Varun Badola to play a flawed yet emotional father in Sony SAB’s Itti Si Khushi

Sony SAB, known for its emotional and family-friendly shows, is ready to present a brand-new drama titled Itti Si Khushi. The channel has a long-standing reputation for delivering relatable content that appeals to viewers of all ages. Itti Si Khushi tells the story of Anvita Diwekar, a strong and determined 21-year-old girl who becomes the backbone of her struggling family. Played by popular actress Sumbul Touqeer Khan, Anvita is the eldest of six siblings and has taken on the role of caretaker. With a father who is addicted to alcohol and a mother who has abandoned the family, Anvita puts her own dreams aside to support and protect her younger siblings. The show also features veteran actor Varun Badola in the role of Suhas Diwekar, Anvita’s father. Suhas is a complex character—flawed and irresponsible, yet not completely without emotion. Speaking about the role, Varun Badola shared, 'Suhas is someone who avoids responsibility, but that doesn’t mean he lacks feelings. It’s a fine balance to play someone who isn’t a villain, but whose failures hurt his children deeply.
