Udit Narayan dismisses viral kissing video scandal; says, 'It is not something sleazy or secret'

Udit Narayan is being discussed everywhere after his viral video. A clip of the singer giving a peck on the lips of a female fan during a concert has outraged many and amused some. We can see a pretty young lady coming up to the veteran for a pic. After a click, she pecks him on the cheek. The singer swiftly responds with a kiss on her lips. In the West, we have seen singers kissing their fans but this is a first in India. Given his age and stature, many believe he crossed the lines of decency with such conduct.

From being trolled as Emraan Hashmi of singing world to being compared to convicted singer Sean P Diddy Combs, he is getting trolled immensely. However, Udit Narayan seems unfazed. He said it was a moment between his fans and him. And they know his intentions. He told Bollywood Hungama, “What you saw in the so-called scandalous video was a manifestation of the love between my fans and I. They love me. I love them back even more."

The singer defended himself saying if he was a sleazy person he would keep himself guarded and do things in private. He said his actions where in the public domain. Udit Narayan said if people are hell bent on finding the kiss dirty then he feels sorry for them. He also said, “I also want to thank them. Because now they've made me even more famous than I already was."

It is not something sleazy or secret. It is there in the public domain. My heart is pure. If some people want to see something dirty in my act of pure affection, then I feel sorry for them.

His son Aditya Narayan who sang Papa Kehte Hain on last night’s episode was also trolled badly. Udit Narayan said it is unusual that the old video surfaced suddenly. He said it could be a malicious doing of someone. The singer said his dream was to get the Bharat Ratna like his idol Lata Mangeshkar.
