Tina Philip on her constantly delayed wedding with Nikhil Sharma

Actor Tina Philip has managed to make a mark on the small screen with multiple roles in multiple shows so far ranging from Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee to the latest being, Aye Mere Humsafar. However, she has also been in the news largely for her off-screen relationship with actor Nikhil Sharma.

Interestingly, Philip got engaged to Sharma over two years ago and if not for the pandemic, she would have been a married woman. Everything was booked and both Catholic and Hindi rituals were to be followed for the ceremony. However now, two years after the same, her wedding hasn't happened yet.

When she was asked if there is finally a date happening, Philip told ETimes TV, “The last time we planned it, God had some other plans. So, this time we’re leaving all the planning to God (smiles).”

Unfortunately, Sharma lost his mother two months ago and everyone has been going through a grieving period, “Nikhil’s mom passed away two months ago. The family is going through a tough phase and it’s been really hard on Nikhil because everything happened so suddenly. Losing a parent is like losing a part of your existence and I think it will take a while for us to come to terms with what has happened.”

Living alone in Mumbai wasn’t easy for Tina, especially during the pandemic, as her family is settled in the UK. Talking about sailing through tough times, Tina says, “I can only give credit to Nikhil and his family. I feel blessed that his family has given me so much love. His family is so grounded and caring and I think those Nikhil has imbibed all those values. In fact, for both of us, our family is the centre point of our relationship and when the foundation is strong, everything else just falls into place.”

As known, Philip met Sharma on the former's debut show, Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee where they played on-screen siblings. But their love story in real life blossomed after.

Philip recently made her entry as Pooja Banerjee's replacement in Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya.
