''This film is not indie", says Sarthak Dasgupta on ZEE5 show 200 - Halla Ho!

Inspired by true events, 200 - Halla Ho on Zee5 features Barun Sobti, Amol Palekar, Rinku Rajguru, Sahil Khattar, among others in the lead roles. The movie will narrate the tale of shocking events that lead to 200 women taking justice into their own hands. What happens later is what the movie deals with.

Helming the movie is director and writer Sarthak Dasgupta and talking about the movie, he told us, ''This film is not indie. It is as mainstream as it gets, in the OTT space. But yes, the OTT space does allow for experimentation in a good way. For me, it has always been about telling deep stories. Be it in any genre. I love to deal with the psychology of human beings. Getting it as real and as layered as possible. For me, fun is about creating memorable stories through memorable characters. While the story is important, I try and stay close to character-driven narratives more than plot-driven ones. Luckily, OTT space allows for it more than the high-stakes theatre-release space.''

Apart from the issue of Dalit women, the movie will also touch upon subjects like rape, etc, and how those accused escape the law by finding loopholes. The trailer of the movie was released a couple of days ago and it managed to grab a lot of eyeballs. Produced by Yoodle Films, the movie will stream on August 20.
