Bollywood actor to play the male lead in season 2 of Diya Aur Baati Hum!

Before the show goes off-air, Diya Aur Baati Hum fans can rejoice as the makers are all set to bring Season 2 of the show. While the 3 years old Star Plus beloved show is pulling its string off from television this September, the second season is already making news for its distinguish star cast.

Yes, Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid will no longer be associated with the show as their characters of Sandhya and Suraj respectively, will be shown dead. Whereas, its other central characters namely Bhabho, Babasa, Meena and Vikram will be retained. Now the question comes in is, who will be playing the lead roles in season 2.

With the latest development, we got to hear that the makers are planning to introduce a macho actor for the main lead role who has done films, to add a celeb factor to the show. And the names that are shortlisted for the same are of Sharman Joshi and Sonu Sood. However, the final verdict is yet to be taken; we hear that the makers are more keen to bring Sharman Joshi as the lead. And for the female cast, the auditions are on for a fresh face as it would be a character of a simple homely girl.

We hear that the pilot too will be shot soon once the actors givea nod. Are you excited to welcome a new season of beloved show 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'?

Each and every actor has his own talent for sure and Anas Rashid is one of them, whatever the future will be for Diya Aur Baati Hum, the truth is that Sooraj's character has always shine and rise with Anas Rashid.

secondly...it's a 5 year old show...not 3 years...journalism is all about reporting news with accuracy without biasness...TB team seems to be not following these rules...

@A huge fan .IPK-Epb was not season 2 of IPK .they just copied the name and everything else was new.

Here older characters will be retained .

Feeling bad for viewers after watching it fr 5 years yet they wont get happy ending .

TB please do research before posting. Neither sharman nor Sonu sood is coming as replacement. They are still hunting for the Male lead...

Season 2 is not necessary, the production house is desperate thus using the same title n banner to bring in another love story...

Sad that people now are labelling this show as saas Bahu, but the truth is trp started dropping only after saas Bahu was overdone, the show was on top when Suraj had a significant role to play to make his wife an IPS...the production house is aware of it that's why they are searching for someone who can be a "replica" of Suraj...

Shame on Star Plus for replacing the lead pair. What is the point bringing season 2 of this serial. It has had a long enough run. It has completed 5 years nearly, not 3 years. Get your maths right.
