Ekta Kapoor's plans in the near future seem to be set, and they do seem alluring too. From the idea of making Yeh Hai Mohabbatein's spin-off, Yeh Hai Chahtein to coming up with Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, the prospect for these shows looks to be full of potential.

However, amidst all this, if there is one idea, which has really the caught the attention of many then that is of remaking the blockbuster, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham for television.

The film, as we know was a resounding success and the perfect family film for everyone to watch. The idea of remaking the same on television not only sounds attractive, but apt too.

Family oriented shows undoubtedly work the best on the small screen, and to have the epitome of a what a family film is, being remade for Indian TV with a modern twist sounds good.

The casting of this project also seems to be underway, and a list of names have been popped here and there as to who will play the leading roles. This is because, ideally, the film was a mega ensemble cast and the same would be repeated for TV too.

And, according to reports, one of the male leads seem to be finalized in the form of actor and VJ, Varun Sood.

Yes! That's right. Varun has apparently been locked on to play one of the leading roles, and it seems it would be that of the younger brother (played by Hrithik Roshan)

We tried contacting Varun multiple times, however, he remained unavailable.
