The wait is OVER, 'Sasural Simar Ka' to go off-air..??
What started off as a tale of two sisters adapting to the 'sasuraal life' soon turned into a spooky saga... From black magic to Daayans and Naagins, from Voodo dolls to faceless evil to housefly... this show has seen it all!

One of the longest running shows on Indian television, 'Sasural Simar Ka' recently achieved the momentous feat of completing 1600 episodes. The show has been on-air for over five years and has been one of the top shows on the channel.
However, lately, the show has been a victim of several bashing and trolls, when it 'adapted' a promo style from the epic English drama series, 'Game Of Thrones' and more recently, when Simar (Dipika Kakar) turned into a makkhi (fly). The show also recently exercised a leap where it included several new actors and focused on the lives of Simar and Prem's (Dheeraj Dhoopar) kids (now grownups).
But, it seems that the end is near for the show; as 'Sasural Simar Ka' is all set to go off-air in the next two months. The show has been a recipient of dipping TRPs on a frequent basis now. In fact, the leap track was practised as a measure to get an increment in TRPs, but that hasn't been the case.
It is also said, that several actors on the show did not want to play older characters.
We contacted Varun Sharma who entered the show post leap and asked him about the news, to which he said, "I don't have an idea about this. We haven't been notified by the makers about any such news. I am certain the show will work better, as the leap track is really interesting. And not that the TRPs are an absolute fall; we are still doing better than several other shows on the same channel. So, we are certain the ratings will get better and the show will stay."
The show lost its primetime slot of 7:30 pm to 6 pm which resulted in a drop in viewership and most importantly, the channel is all set to launch a couple of new shows along with the forthcoming season of 'Bigg Boss.'
Things don't seem to be working in the show's favour, apparently.
