Tell us about the new show and its concept?

The new show is called MTV Anything for Love. It Is a show targeted towards millennials and gen-z population. The show tests the love that couples have for each other through various facets of relationship like compatibility, intimacy, teamwork, and the knowledge they have about each other and all of this capsuled in a very fun, entertaining easy on the eye format.

How fun was it to host this show?

Honestly, this has been the by far the one of the funniest shows I have hosted everybody from contestants to crew working behind the camera to the audience to the channel, all of us had so much fun making the show that we didn’t feel like we were working. Everyday on set has been entertaining it has been so easy, comfortable, eye opening and refreshing and fun in more ways than one.

My association with MTV goes back a long way. It first started of as this young kid who would run on from school and watch MTV every day, it was a really aspirational channel and still is for a whole lot of us who grew up in the 90’s you know we have loved and grown up watching different MTV shows their VJs and it shaped who we are as people so that connect will always remain and now many years later when I am getting to host my own show on a channel that I have grown up and loved watching has been fantastic.- Varun Thakur

Tell us about the challenge you faced while hosting the show?

I wouldn’t say that I faced a lot of challenges because we had a fantastic channel on board, we have a great production and direction team on board, and we had amazing contestants so when all these things are in place my job as host becomes a lot easier because we all have one single minded focus and that is to make this show a lot of fun. Honestly, I have not faced any obstacles or problems in fact the only problem I have with the show is that the shooting is going to end soon, and I don’t want it to as I am having so much fun doing it.

Tell us about your association with MTV?

My association with MTV goes back a long way. It first started of as this young kid who would run on from school and watch MTV every day, it was a really aspirational channel and still is for a whole lot of us who grew up in the 90’s you know we have loved and grown up watching different MTV shows their VJs  and it shaped who we are as people so that connect will always remain and now many years later when I am getting to host my own show on a channel that I have grown up and loved watching has been fantastic. Other than this I have worked with the Viacom family on a lot different shows whether it was on Comedy Central which was a standup comedy competition. Many years back there was MTV India’s channel on which I had. In fact, not many people know back in the day I have done a couple of reality shows for MTV as well as a contestant there was a show called MTV on the job many years ago that I was a part of so in some way or form I have always been associated with the MTV and Viacom family and I am so glad that they brought me on for this show and I hope that it continues for many seasons.
