The 'Saiyaara' hype is real: Midnight shows added amidst record-breaking advance bookings-report

Romance is making a grand comeback, and Saiyaara is leading the way! Mohit Suri’s much-awaited film is creating an uproar at the box office even before its official release. With young leads Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda at the forefront, this modern love story is turning out to be one of the biggest pre-release sensations of the year. Scheduled to hit theatres on July 18, 2025, Saiyaara has already set a new benchmark in advance ticket sales. According to Sacnilk, the film has raked in a whopping Rs 2.69 crore in advance bookings for its opening day alone. Over 1 lakh tickets have already been sold across the country, and the numbers are only going up by the hour.

The buzz is especially strong in metros like Delhi, as well as across Maharashtra, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. The youthful energy of the film has struck a chord with Gen Z, and exhibitors are seeing this wave turn into a full-blown tsunami. In a rare move, renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed that midnight shows (11:55 PM) are being added across India before the film even hits the big screen, a phenomenon usually seen only after a film proves successful. He called the response “historic,” emphasizing how rare it is for a film to command this level of anticipation.

The film is now close to surpassing the pre-sale numbers of recent hits. It’s eyeing Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which holds the record for the highest advance bookings in 2025 so far, with around 2.25 lakh tickets. Saiyaara is also set to beat Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which sold over 1.43 lakh tickets in advance.

The trailer has struck the right emotional chords, introducing Ahaan as Krish Kapoor, a passionate singer chasing his dreams, while Aneet plays a gifted lyricist whose words give his music soul. This story of two dreamers is being touted as a soulful ride filled with music, longing, and connection.

Releasing alongside Tanvi The Great, Nikita Roy, and Hollywood titles like F1 and Jurassic World Rebirth, Saiyaara is already emerging as the top contender. If the current buzz is anything to go by, it looks like Bollywood has finally found its next big romantic blockbuster.
