"The 8 Year break and the travel helped me become a versatile actor “ , Actor Ali Merchant

Ali Merchant has appeared in over 35 television programmes, both fiction and non-fiction, on all major channels such as Colors, MTV, Star Plus, Life Ok, Sony TV, Zee TV, and Channel V. He recently wowed the audience with his powerpack performance in Alt Balaji's reality show LockUp. He is also a musician, with official remixes on labels including as T-Series and Zee Music. 

Ali will be now seen in a web series where the star will be playing a lead as an unconventional Punjabi cop. Talking about the same in an exclusive conversation with us he said, " The project is very close to my heart i had to put 8 kgs of muscle mass for this role and speak Punjabi with everybody. But it was fun shooting for this and i can't wait for you guys to watch it".

When asked about being typecasting , he further added, "As I have done over 1000 episodes at an early age and then 8-9 years of break in that travelled a lot & lived with all possible cultures in india so that helps me in being versatile as an actor where I like to get into the skin of any character I portray so I feel I wouldn’t get type casted ever . An artist needs to get better and better daily to avoid being typecasted".

The release date of the show isn’t out yet, but we are excited to watch Ali in a never seen avatar before.
