Vijay, one of Tamil cinema’s biggest stars, has announced that he will step away from acting after completing his upcoming film, Jana Nayagan. The film, his 69th, is expected to be his final appearance on screen. His focus will then shift entirely to political work, as he prepares to lead TVK into the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. According to reports, he plans to contest independently, without aligning with established parties such as AIADMK.
