Sumbul has been quite supportive: Megha Chakroborty of ‘Imlie’

Star Plus show ‘Imlie’ is getting love from the viewers. The show has taken a generation leap; post which new characters have been introduced. Fahmaan Khan and Sumbul Touqeer, who played the characters of Aryan and Imlie bid adieu to the show and a new generation have entered. Actors Megha Chakroborty, Karan Vohra and Seerat Kapoor will be seen playing pivotal roles of Imlie, Atharva and Cheeni respectively.

India Forums got in touch with Megha Chakroborty and asked the actress about this new chapter in her career, she said, “I’m thrilled to join the show. The show has been quite popular and I know for a fact that Aryan and Imlie enjoy massive fan-following and audience find it difficult to accept new faces, however, I’ve been receiving positive feedbacks and my fans are super excited for the show”.

We asked Megha if she met Sumbul Touqeer, the previous ‘Imlie’, she said, “I did meet her. She was quite occupied as they have to wrap up the shoot but still she was very warm and welcoming. Initially, the story was supposed to have Imlie’s daughter being brought up in village and I got a script filled with dialogues of different language. It was very difficult for me to understand and Sumbul was right there for my rescue. She came to my room and helped me out with the ascent and dialogues. However, due to some changes in the script, Imlie is shown growing up majorly in a city”.

The show has been quite popular and I know for a fact that Aryan and Imlie enjoy massive fan-following and audience find it difficult to accept new faces, however, I’ve been receiving positive feedbacks and my fans are super excited for the show.

When asked about re-uniting with Karan Vohra post ‘Krishna Chali London’, Megha added, “Oh! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw him on the sets. There’s always a comfort with actors that you’ve already worked with. When we met on the sets, we both warmly greeted each other which left the crew puzzled as they didn’t know that we’ve worked together before. I’m relieved that we won’t have to work a lot on our chemistry as we were paired opposite each other in the past as well.”
