The new year has barely begun and a mammoth avalanche of controversies has struck the entertainment industry, from Parth Samthaan - Vikas Gupta controversy to the molestation saga of Pratyusha Banerjee and Ratan Rajput respectively, another case joins the list.
Actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who is currently seen as Keechak in 'Chakravartin Ashok Samrat' had apparently pressed charges of theft and fraud against filmmakers Rakesh Roshan and Sanjay Gupta, as he alleged them of stealing his script which is a love story-cum-revenge drama.
According to a leading news daily, a source said, "Rakesh Roshan has got in touch with his lawyers on advice of filing the defamation suit. He is no mood to remain mum over the allegations which threaten to tarnish his name and image in the industry." There is also an apparent seeking of Rs 50 crore involved which Rakesh plans to seek from Sudhanshu.
It was earlier reported that Sudhanshu and Sanjay Gupta met back in May and agreed to come co-produce and direct Sudhanshu's script. And apparently, after one-script reading session, Hrithik Roshan also gave his nod to the project but wanted it to go through Rakesh Roshan who also offered to present and produce it under his banner, Filmkraft Productions.
Sudhanshu met both back in October and was offered 2% of the profits and a credit as an associate producer, but not for the story, screenplay and dialogues.
Rakesh confirmed the filing of suit, telling, "Yes, I am filing a criminal defamation suit against him. That's all I can say for now."
We tried contacting Sudhanshu multiple times, however he remained unavailable.
