Sudha Chandran, the Epitome of Determination..

The role model for many, the lady with a never-ending determination, Sudha Chandran today owns a Dance Academy with 9 branches spread over Mumbai.

Says the actress cum dancer, “My Dance Academy has 9 branches in Vile Parle, Andheri, Thane and we have tie-ups with Supremo Club in Hiranandani and Raheja.” She adds on to say, "We concentrate on classical dances but will also teach contemporary western dances like Jazz, Salsa etc.”

The actress is otherwise busy with her roles in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Sony’s Kuchh Is Tara, apart from the two DD shows, Kashmakash and Humari Bahu Tulsi.

A visibly shaken Sudha talked about the recent death of the Magsasay Award Winner Dr. P. K. Sethi, who operated on Sudha and placed the ‘Jaipur Foot’ after the dancer had lost her foot in an accident in 1981. Talking about the doctor who gave her, her second life, she says, “I would be grateful to him for the rest of my life and will want his name to live on. He has enriched many people’s lives, not just mine. He has done a lot for people, and not only those who are physically disabled. All I can say about him is that I have never seen God, but if I have to visualize God it would be in the face of Dr. P.K.Sethi.”
