Subhash Ghai, the renowned director behind films like Pardes, Taal, Yuvvraaj, Khalnayak, and Ram Lakhan, has been hospitalized. Earlier reports suggested that the filmmaker had been dealing with respiratory problems and was admitted to a Mumbai hospital. However, his team has now clarified that it was a routine check-up and assured fans that he is doing fine.
After the news of his hospitalization spread, Subhash Ghai’s spokesperson quickly issued a statement to set the record straight. The statement read, “We would like to confirm that Mr. Subhash Ghai is absolutely fine. He has been admitted for a routine check-up and is doing well. Thank you all for your love and concern.”
The 79-year-old filmmaker is known for his larger-than-life films with unforgettable music, engaging plots, and vivid characters. Earlier reports had mentioned that Ghai was admitted after facing respiratory issues, weakness, and dizziness. He was initially placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under the supervision of specialists. However, his team confirmed that he has been responding well to treatment and would be moved to a general ward soon.
Subhash Ghai is a legendary name in Bollywood, with iconic movies from the 90s and 2000s. Some of his notable works include Karz, Hero, Meri Jung, Saudagar, Khalnayak, Pardes, and Taal. His last directorial venture was Kaanchi in 2014.
Recently, Subhash Ghai attended the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, where he revealed plans for a sequel to the 2004 film Aitraaz, starring Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar, and Kareena Kapoor.
