Srijita breaks audition jinx in Kolkata...

Kolkata the city which boasts of cultural richness where music and art runs in people's bloodinitially disappointed the judges of Indian Idol 4. The first day of the Indian Idol Kolkata auditions had the judges waiting to get their singing stars who could come to Mumbai for the next round � Theatre. But there was no voice that stood out or even appealed to any of them.

Just then Annu Malek, the man known for his one-liners decided to take charge of the lost ground. Annu stepped out of the audition room for a pep talk with all the contestants.

The first girl who got selected from Kolkatta was Srijita. She was as nervous about her auditions like hundreds of others but aspired to fulfill her father's dream of being a singer and participating in Indian Idol.

Some wise men once said that 'If you've have true talent, then nothing can stop you and the world is your audience!' This is precisely what happened to Srijita as she came, performed and conquered the hearts of the judges. Srijita was the first to break the jinx at the auditions and opened the doors for amaar Kolkata!

36 contestants were picked from the city, and will now head to their next destination Mumbai!
