'Spooky n Uncanny' with Sonal Parihar!

TellyBuzz brings to you the 'Spooky and Uncanny' column with your favorite telly stars and tries to find out their beliefs in supernatural and their brush with the uncanny! This week we have Sonal Parihar with us, who is seen as Jhanvi in Balaji Telefilms' Bade Achche Laggte Hain on Sony.

Yes, I do.. but not in spirits and other negative powers . I believe in religious powers. I strongly believe that there is a superior power whether it's God or the power of the nature or the universe. I believe that there is something which is very powerful than all of us. Whatever good or bad things that we do, we get it back from the universe.

I had heard this story of a guy without a head and some people used to say that whenever they would go to dry clothes on the clothes line they see that guy hanging with the rope. Whenever I used to listen these stories, I used to visualize that guy hanging from the rope. People used to say that the guy was going for an interview in a formal dress and perhaps he met with an accident but his body was recovered without a head. I have heard this from many people who claim that they have seen this guy without a head hanging from the rope.

When I was doing my internship after my MBA, I was staying as a PG (paying guest) in Pune. I was working with HDFC Bank that time and I never imagined that I would experience something like this. My branch was very close to the place where I was staying. I used to be on field visits most of the times so whenever I used to get some time I used to go to my place. After 10-12 days of me shifting into this place, whenever I used to come to my room and open the door, I used to see people in white clothes with candles all over the room! They used to chant something. It was really strange for me and I used to talk to my parents too about all this.

One day, I decided to leave the place. I woke up and was getting ready to leave for my branch. There was a lady who used to be there 24x7 for household work. She used to pick up my fallen hair and used to collect them in a polythene bag and keep it with her. She used to keep it in her cupboard. One day, I opened her cupboard and I saw that she had kept my used tooth brush, the empty tube of my tooth paste and the wrapper of chocolates eaten by me. Earlier, I used to come back from my work and sleep but after these things started happening to me, I was not able to sleep and I spoke to my Mom about this. The maid used to force me to eat something and when I used to refuse she used to scold me. Finally, one day I lied to them saying that my branch has shifted somewhere else and I left the place. This was the scariest thing which has ever happened to me in real life.

I love watching horror movies. I have seen  many horror movies but 'The Exorcist' was  one which made me very scared. For, 2-3 days after watching the movie I used to cover my head with a blanket whenever I used to hear some sound in the night (laughs).

When I was doing my MBA, I went to watch a movie, Grudge 2. A friend of mine told me that you have watched so many horror movies so you must not be afraid to go to this place nearby which was said to be haunted. She told me that you will hear a voice and feel the vibration when you enter the place. I entered the gate and I was looking here and there and I was scared but I didn't tell my friend. I crossed the whole compound but nothing happened and it was 2 AM (laughs).
