Sony Entertainment, does a revamp with their weekday prime-time slots owing to the success of Ratna Sinha’s Babul Ka Angan Chootey Na. The show was aired at the 10pm slot, with direct competition to Balaji Telefilm’s Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii on Star Plus. The channel has now decided to take the heat off, and place the show right between Star Plus' Kasturi and Zee’s Saath Phere. The Telly Buzz team talks to the producer of Babul Ka Angan Chootey Naa, Ratna Sinha, on the sudden change...
"We conducted a research and found that a lot of people from smaller towns are connecting to the show, and a preferable time for them to watch the show is 9:30 as the night begins early in smaller towns and villages as compared to larger cities. So we wanted to put the show at a time which is convenient for them", opines Ratna.
When asked if this is going to affect the show's TRPs as the 9:30 slot is surrounded by many other popular shows, she stated, "No, i think if people are relating to the show, they will surely watch it. Also, there is quite a different audience who watch our show, so I don't think that will be a problem and neither will it affect the TRPs of the show. Ratna ends by saying, "It will take some time for the show to grow slowly. We cannot expect it to jump to number one overnight."
As the change takes place, the new time slots for the prime time slot in Sony are as such: AmberDhara kicks off the evening at 8:30pm, followed by Balaji’s Kuchh Is Tara at 9:00, Babul ka Angan Chootey Naa gets the 9:30 slot, followed by Tujhko Hain Salaam Zindgi at 10:00.
