Smita Bansal, the cute little actress once seen in Amaanat and Sarhadein is back with a bang!!

“I am playing the role of Sumitra, whose son marries a minor girl. The story is about how I treat my bahu and try to ensure that the ill meted out to me by my mother-in-law (played by Surekha Sikri) is not passed on to my daughter-in-law”, says Smita when asked about her role in the serial.
“This is the story of a Rajasthani family. Since Rajasthan is my home state, there was an instant connection to the show and I felt I will be comfortable doing this role. We have even shot the initial few episodes in Rajasthan”, says Smita.
If you thought this was enough, hold on. Smita is also venturing into films. “I am playing the role of Pinki, the sister of the hero – Himesh Reshamiya – in the remake of Karz”, confides a beaming Smita. But isn't it a bit too late in her career to take up movies? “Not really. I feel this is the best time. My daughter has grown up – she is five now. I feel this is the time when I can take on new challenges and look at newer avenues. I have explained my nature of work to my daughter and she has understood. But all this would not have been possible without the tremendous support from my family, specially my mother-in-law. If it was not for her, I would be doing something else after marriage”, concludes Smita.
