On Monday, July 14, 2025, Haryanvi singer Rahul Fazilpuria, known for hits like Kharch Karod and Kar Gayi Chull, was targeted in a shooting in Gurugram. According to reports, the incident occurred near Badshahpur on the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR). Fortunately, Fazilpuria was unharmed. As of now, authorities have not identified the assailants or determined the motive behind the attack.

Fazilpuria was in his car when multiple shots were fired. Eyewitnesses reported the attackers fled immediately, leaving no injuries but many questions. Police have launched an investigation, and the motive is currently unknown. Authorities are exploring all angles, including potential links to past controversies involving the singer.

Police said a probe has been launched into the incident. "No one has been injured, nor has any vehicle been hit by a bullet in this incident. The Gurugram Police’s Scene of Crime team reached the location. The alleged gunshot has not been confirmed so far. The incident is being investigated from all angles,” read an official statement by the city police.

Fazilpuria gained national fame with the 2014 hit Ladki Beautiful Kar Gayi Chull, later featured in the 2016 film Kapoor & Sons. Produced by Badshah, his other popular songs include Jimmy Choo, Party, and Millionaire. He adopted his stage name from his village, Fazilpur, near Gurugram.

In recent years, Fazilpuria has faced controversy, including an investigation into snake venom use in entertainment videos. He is also known to be close with YouTuber Elvish Yadav, who has also been linked to similar cases.

Rahul Fazilpuria, a popular Haryanvi singer also ventured into politics by contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Gurugram on a Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) ticket. However, he was defeated by BJP's Rao Inderjit Singh, not Mukesh Sharma. Rao Inderjit Singh secured a significant number of votes (808,336), while Rahul Fazilpuria received 13,278 votes.
