Shoojit Sircar turns Producer for Amitabh Bachhan's next!

Shoojit Sircar and living legend Amitabh Bachchan have collaborated to create cinema magic with 'Piku'. Mr Bachchan has always lauded Sircar's filmmaking and the latter, in awe of his muse, has worked on some memorable ads with him too. It is only natural that their next project together promises creative & cinematic brilliance. 

Sircar and partner Ronnie Lahiri, under the banner of Rising Sun Films are collaborating with Mr Bachchan on a social thriller to be directed by National award winner Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.

Speaking about the project, Mr Bachchan said, "Working with Shoojit & his team is always a pleasure. When I heard this story, I was drawn to it immediately. It's got a social message subtly weaved in an engaging story.Being a part of such important stories satisfies me."

Sircar, who makes inherent Indian realities into entertaining, universal cinema, spoke about his decision to turn producer here. He said, "Aniruddh's story was so compelling that I wanted to make this film immediately. We also wanted to make it in Hindi. Like me, given a chance he would make all his films with MrBachchan! Naturally he took the script to him and is both honored & exhilarated that he has agreed! For us, it's a brilliant start already!"
