Shiwani Chakraborty opens up on recent changes in Anupamaa; 'Fun, although hectic'

A new family has been added to the already-super successful set-up of Anupamaa, produced by Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi. Actress Shiwani Chakraborty, who plays the role of Meeta Kothari in the show, says that she is sure the audience will continue to love the new angle.

“Anything new and dramatic always adds a new flavour to a show. It's a pleasure to know that our Kothari family is being loved by audiences. Being a part of the TV industry for so long, I have enjoyed every character and always tried to entertain my fans and audience. Meeta Kothari, too, is a very interesting character. She is witty, rich and a wife and a mother who always wants her family to be get respectful place. It will be interesting to see how she will able to do that in future,” she says.

Anupamaa has always been loved as a show, she says, adding, “I'm a very family-oriented person, so I always love the way the mother-daughter-and-son equation is shown in the show. The little nuances which Anupamaa has always give a message to society.”

Meanwhile, the festive and wedding celebrations in Deepa Shahi and Rajan Shahi’s shows are always larger-than-life. Talking about the same, she says, “Yes, they always make weddings look like a fairy tale. A girl can only imagine all this for her special day. As an actor, it was also my dream to be a part of Rajan sir’s show and now being a part of all this seems surreal. I am enjoying every bit of it.

It’s always fun, although hectic. We enjoy all the ritual sequences and it feels like we are doing it as a family altogether.”
