Shivangi Joshi's Debut Film To Release On OTT Platform Instead of Cannes Film Festival

After Hina Khan, it was reported that Shivangi Joshi will be making her Cannes debut. The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress had shot a short film titled, Our Own Sky that was slated to release in Cannes. But owing to the current scenario looks like the actress will not get the opportunity to walk on the prestigious red carpet.

Due to the pandemic outbreak across the globe which is showing no signs of abating, the Cannes Festival is not happening this year. Considering the situation, the makers of the short film are planning to release it on the digital platform. Confirming the news to a leading portal film producer Mohammed Nagaman Lateef said that, "People would have got to see only photos of Shivangi, Aditya and Asifa maybe if we'd gone to Cannes. So now our POA is to re-edit the film and make it to a length of about 45 minutes so that it is suited for OTT."

The streaming platform to release the film is yet to be finalized, though. Besides Shivangi, Aditya Khurana and South actress Asifa Haque are playing prominent roles in the film.
