Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani's Karanvir Sharma: I believe any actor who can do television can do anything else

Television as a medium is content-rich and it has only been getting better, to say the least. Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani actor Karanvir Sharma totally agrees that doing television is not only a different ball game but also that we must move past stereotypes of reducing an actor to one medium. In an exclusive conversation with India Forums, he spoke about his journey of working across different mediums and the stereotypes that lie.

About the TV space and how far he feels he has come as far as his work on the show is concerned, he says, ''Television is a different ball game altogether. I totally believe that any actor who can do television can do anything else because you are tested in every limit - be the time, the effort, the patience, it is a different combination. I think that till now, whatever I have learned so far, I am utilizing it and this is the kind of complex character not only on an emotional level but the physical level as well. I have never been so utilized and exhausted because I do dancing, fighting, saving the girl from the fire and the riots, your best element as an actor, I am putting it to use right now.''

If I did care about what people think or how they categorize me, I wouldn't be doing half of the things, I wouldn't be doing television, because I feel the first thing I have learned and that goes for any actor is that you have to go uninhibited. A lot of people are watching this online, across the globe, but it is just a medium now.

For someone who has worked across different mediums, ask him what does he feel about how actors on television are always stereotyped, he feels that it is important to be uninhibited. He says, ''My take on this is exactly my body of work, it speaks for itself. If I did care about what people think or how they categorize me, I wouldn't be doing half of the things, I wouldn't be doing television, because I feel the first thing I have learned and that goes for any actor is that you have to go uninhibited. A lot of people are watching this online, across the globe, but it is just a medium now, definitely, you'll be known in a television show firstly, but I don't want to get into who thinks what. I have a couple of things lined up from the pending year and if I can do it, anyone else can as well.''

Karanvir returned to the sets only recently after recovering from COVID-19 and fans continue to be excited about what the show has in store ahead.
