TV actors moving onto films is no surprise, however, it is also true that only a handful of them make it big. Actor Sharad Kelkar, who started off with shows like Saat Phere and CID, has recently worked in multiple films and has created quite an impact. Some of his projects include Tanhaji, Laxmmi, and more.

While talking about how only a few have managed to grab leading roles during their transition from TV to Bollywood, the actor feels that he was lucky and persistent in his approach and hence, got interesting projects. He further added how it was then that he resolved how he does not want to go back to doing basic roles and set his goals and was keen on doing a varied range of characters. He told The Times of India further, ''And I feel that paid off. Though I did not get lead roles, I got to play many interesting supporting roles in films, which got me accolades and appreciation.''

Meanwhile, he also feels that one does not need to push for lead roles and it is gradually that it will happen. He also mentioned that the notion about TV actors not making it as leads in films is not true and added how a lot of good actors from TV have been doing strong roles. He also highlighted that he does not feel TV actors are typecast or doing trivial roles.

In addition, he revealed how he is keen on working with his wife and actress Keerti soon. He mentioned that while she is keeping busy with their daughter right now if something interesting happens in a year or two, he would love to work with her.
