’Shakuntala Devi’ is Just Another Example of How India is filled with Talent and Great Educators

How fast can one figure out a multi-digit calculation? Maybe, if we want quicker results, we opt for a calculator on our mobiles, laptops or the manual ones. But have you heard about someone who is faster than all of them? Who can give you answers within seconds?

Well, if not then let us introduce you to 'Shakuntala Devi' a.k.a 'The Human Computer'. She is the woman who proved a computer wrong and also made it in the Guinness Book of World Records. We read it in our textbooks back in school but with the upcoming movie coming on Amazon Prime, we sure will know a lot more!

Shakuntala Devi was born as the daughter of a magician and one day when her father was teaching her a trick of cards at the age of 3, he noticed her ability to memorize numbers and started showcasing her talent on roads. She had earnt all of this without any education.

Showing her arithmetic talent she travelled all across the world and solved a thirteen digit equation in just a short span of 28 seconds winning her name in the golden pages of history and the Guinness Book of World Records.

If you didn't know this fun fact- the famous educator Anand Kumar is also from Bihar, India and is popularly known for teaching the lesser privileged kids and sending them to IITs and shaping the better lives for a brighter future.

In 2019, a film titled 'Super 30' was based on Anand Kumar where one saw Hrithik Roshan essay his character and it was a huge hit all across. Shakuntala Devi is an upcoming film and one will see Vidya Balan essay the lead role of the famous 'Human Computer' exclusively on Amazon Prime Video's on 30th July 2020 and you're surely in for a treat.
