Shailesh Lodha wins a 1 crore lawsuit against 'TMKOC' producer Asit Modi

In the well-known television series 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,' Shailesh Lodha essayed one of the primary characters, that of Taarak Mehta in the show. After being a part of the show for a remarkable 14 years, he decided to leave due to a disagreement with the producer, Asit Kumarr Modi.

The issue arose when Lodha's outstanding payments were not cleared, leading him to file a lawsuit against producer Asit Modi. As per recent reports, Lodha emerged victorious in the legal battle, and as part of the settlement terms, Asit has agreed to pay Rs 1,05,84,000/- through a demand draft.

Shailesh had approached the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) earlier in the year to address the pending dues. The matter was virtually heard under section 9 of the insolvency and bankruptcy code, and the parties reached a resolution through the efforts of their respective counsels.

Speaking to the Times Of India, Shailesh emphasized that the fight was never solely about money but rather about seeking justice and upholding his self-respect. He expressed his satisfaction at the truth prevailing and considered it a personal victory.

According to Shailesh, Asit had attempted to impose certain conditions on him while clearing his dues, including a gag order on speaking to the media and other restrictions. Refusing to give in to such pressure, he stood firm, believing that he should not have to sign any documents to receive the money he rightfully earned.

Meanwhile, 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' continues to enjoy a successful run for over 15 years. The show has been in the controversies for quite some time now and a lot of actors of the show including Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, Priya Ahuja, Monika Bhadoriya have gone ahead to levy serious allegations on producer Asit Modi and the production house of the show.
