'SatyaPrem Ki Katha' Song 'Pasoori Nu' sparks Twitter storm with trolling and memes

The excitement surrounding Sajid Nadiadwala and Namah Pictures's upcoming film 'Satyaprem Ki Katha' is reaching new heights as the release date draws near. Following the heart-winning trailer, the soulful musical romantic pure love story has managed to keep the anticipation alive with its captivating songs. Adding to the musical repertoire, the makers recently unveiled the song 'Pasoori Nu,' a remake of the popular Pakistani track by singers Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, titled 'Pasoori.'

In this rendition of 'Pasoori Nu' from 'Satyaprem Ki Katha,' the vocals are rendered by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. The music is composed by the talented duo Rochak Kohli and Ali Sethi, while the lyrics are penned by Gurpreet Saini and Ali Sethi himself. 

However, as is often the case with remakes, the reception from the audience has been a mixed bag. While some listeners appreciated the new rendition and acknowledged the artistic interpretation, others took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction. Memes and trolls flooded social media platforms, with users sharing their reactions to the song. One user even posted an image of a person with bleeding ears, humorously captioning it as "me after listening to the new 'Pasoori.'"

The backlash against remakes, especially of beloved classic songs, is not uncommon. Audiences often feel that the originality and essence of the original composition are compromised in the process. They believe that the new version fails to do justice to the iconic status of the original song.

While it is natural for opinions to vary when it comes to artistic creations, the response to 'Pasoori Nu' highlights the divided sentiments surrounding remakes. 

'Satyaprem Ki Katha' is not just capturing attention for its music but also for its collaboration between NGE and Namah Pictures. It is worth noting that Sajid Nadiadwala, Shareen Mantri Kedia, Kishor Arora, and director Sameer Vidwans have previously received National Awards for their respective feature films, making this project a significant collaboration in itself. The film is set to hit the big screens on 29th June, 2023.
