India Forums got in touch with the actress to know more about the same and she said,  "I have had many close friends in the media fraternity since years, and I've always shared a great bond with everyone. But I feel like it was unfortunate how the headlines about me turned out or was misinterpreted. I am making a comeback into the media scene after long, and I am making these beautiful songs, so I want to be made to feel comfortable and safe when I am talking. I don't want to talk in fear of being misinterpreted again. For instance, I casually spoke about how I rather like my lips natural, but the next thing I know, that one statement made it to the headlines everywhere. I said it in a very light-hearted way- just how I would to any friend. And this has been the exact same situation in the past as well. I wanted to break the chain that's why I had to write the letter. I had to put a full stop to it."

She further added, "And I also don't see a point in talking about the past and being asked about something that's far in the past. Why can't we talk about better things? Like my music that I'm writing to bring a change in the world. Or my love for acting, and all the amazing shows I've done. I wrote an open letter to the media fraternity to encourage healthy relations between media and the artists. To encourage more kindness and empathy. Because I'm tired of being called controversial, I'm a very simple girl at heart. I love to act, sing, dance, and write music. That's who I am, and I want to be known for that."

Several television celebrities supported Sara for the open letter.
