Sanjog Se Bani Sangini - First Week Review..

Zee TV's newest offering, Sanjog Se Bani Sangini produced by DJ's Creative Unit is certainly a 'can watch' show!! Reason - there are lot many factors that are a plus in the show..

First of all, the comeback of Iqbal Khan to television is refreshing, and we get to see the macho man as a possessive and egoistic lover Rudr, who wants to have his way in everything!! Binny Sharma as the subtle and simple Gauri might not be the typical TV heroine that we have been seeing for years, but there is a grace in her that will prompt the audience to like her. A complete new comer when it comes to acting, but full marks to Binny as she gets the right expressions on her face and fits perfectly into the skin of her character. Additi Gupta (who was earlier seen as a devoted lover and wife in Kis Desh Main Hai Meraa Dil) gets to play an interesting role here, that of an egoistic and confused girl who just cannot understand the real meaning of love, and what the sacred institution of marriage means.

The makers have hit a jackpot by casting the two very experienced ladies of television, Aroona Irani and Sudha Chandran, that too in contrasting ages!! While Rajrani (Aroona) is the manipulative mother who is the woman behind the success of her husband, Sudha portrays the role of Kalki Devi who happens to be the grand mom of the female lead – this we can say is a risk that paid off!! Raunaq Ahuja as the suitor of Pihu seems to be offering the required drama quotient in the life of the egoistic lovers. Trishna as Rudr's bhabhi has to get a mention here, for she is doing a commendable job.

The presentation of the show is at its stunning best, whether it be the beautiful locales of Haridwar and Hrishikesh or the majestic Pataudi Palace in Delhi. The manner in which the principal characters of the show were introduced in the very first episode was quick and neat. The camera angles are brilliant, a feast to the eye.

Rudr and Pihu make an interesting pair, a unique one that stands out from all the genuine lovers seen on television. Reason being that their love for each other is entangled by various factors like playfulness, ego clashes, lack of understanding, and above all, the fact that they really do not know what they want in life!!

The makers have succeeded in creating a curiosity factor in the very first week!! Will Pihu stay firm to her decision of marrying Abhay? Can Rudr let go off his first love and seek solace in the presence of Gauri? How will Rudr and Gauri's relationship shape up? All these questions will surely be in the minds of viewers who have watched the proceedings in the opening week of Sanjog Se Bani Sangini..

Last but not the least, Sanjog Se Bani Sangini is NO Devdas, and this comes as a welcome relief to the viewers!! The love story of Rudr and Pihu clad with various layers of ego can never be compared to the pure and eternal love story of Devdas and Paro.. And there is much more put into the character of Gauri, and she is definitely not a Chandramukhi. Guess the only common factor will be that, in days to come Rudr like a Devdas, might find a close friend in his alcohol bottle. Guess he has already found one!!

On the whole, a good show with a very good cast and an interesting plot which will do wonders for the channel, if handled well..
