Sandiip Sikcand, who has personally faced a slight low phase through the lockdown, emphasizes on not only his own way of coping with the issue but also shares insights on how people facing internal mental health problems can deal with them better.

Speaking about the necessity of making mental health a more approachable topic and his own experience of dealing with the issue, Sandiip shares, "Mental health has always been a topic people have brushed under the carpet all these years because speaking about it has always made them uncomfortable. Though with the new generation we are living in, it is now finally being brought to light with the rise of cases that are showing up, especially with the youth of today. I honestly feel that just the way you need a doctor to cure your physical pains, you definitely need someone to listen to you and help ease your mental pains as well. Be it a professional counselor or therapist in the field or even someone close to you whom you can confide in is a must I feel, to take off the load from your mind. Only when we speak about what is going on in our mind and accept that we need help to deal with it better, can we truly help ourselves."

"The lockdown proved to be quite a taxing period for me as well. I am someone who is always used to being on the go with my meetings, work and other commitments, but due to being stuck at home all the time through quarantine it definitely got the better of me! There were low days, days when I would feel uneasy and upset about things which were beyond my control, and that is when I decided to go speak to someone about what I was facing. I will admit that I did visit a counselor and let my heart out to her, and with her guidance, I was able to deal with the situation in a much better manner. Hence my advice to all those going through mental stress, please go talk it out to someone as that is the best you can truly do for yourself!"
