Like a doting daddy, Salim Khan has always stood by Salman Khan's side. Be it the superstar's court hearings or his frivolous public remarks; daddy dearest never fails to support his son. There are also times when Salim Khan has come forward and apologised on Salman's behalf.

But, when someone tries to mess with his child, like a protecting father Salim stands firm and gives back to them.

Recently, a particular news channel insulted Salman Khan and also addressed him as a "grandfather". It seems these statements didn't go down well with daddy dearest Salim who in turn took to his social account and slammed the media.

Appreciating Salman for his hard work in 'Sultan' he posted: "In a TV debate Salman was mentioned as old enough to be a grandfather over and over. I request them to watch #Sultan in a theatre."

"And wonder how could a man old enough to be a grandfather do this. People have strong temptation to hurt people."

"But to resist this temptation will make them human which is the greatest of all religions."

What do you think? Is Salim Khan justified for coming out in support of Salman Khan? Share your views in the comment box below.

How is grandfather an insult? Salman himself said that a cousin of his became grandfather at his age. In comedy nights with Kapil when Salman, Sohail and daizy came to promote jai ho he said this. I remember this because Kapil Sharma, said after this that he has his own stamina bhai...lol.

@Sana_zee, I do not know which country you belong to - but your prejudice for Indian culture is unwarranted at an Indian website

He is the father...so it is only natural for him to defend his son. But Salman looks like no grandfather I know. Lol :)

LOL a person of 50 years old doesn't have to be someone's grandfather, uncle, or anything of that sort. Why do desis have to have such a cheap mentality? It's hilarious to see people justifying that label as "indian culture"

The average person at 50 is a grandfather. So now Salman has graduated from being a 'bhai' to a 'dada'.

In Indian culture, it is common to call elders as uncle, aunty, dada, dadi, etc. Salim has to realize that chronologically his child is now a dada.

Yes, he is justified in voicing his opinion as a father. Not everyone has to agree but it's his opinion. I have to agree though that if you watch Sultan, that doesn't look like something a grandfather could do. Actually most 50 year olds couldn't do that.

Salim says "People have strong temptation to hurt people. But to resist this temptation will make them human which is the greatest of all religions." But his son Salman does not believe in this religion. Salman believes in revenge and being so vindictive as to destroy people's career! So, he should point his finger at his son not others

Two questions Mr. Salam Khan -
1. Why did you not voice your displeasure immediately? It has been 4 weeks since Arnab called him a grandfather. If you had objections to it, why react now after the film's release?
2. Is calling someone a grandfather derogatory? I don't think so. He is 50 plus and should be able to fight his own battles. I wish you had reacted the same way when he compared himself to a rape victim.

Get a grip of your son rather than shifting the blame on the public. Public will react when your son crosses the line.
