Sadiya Siddique in new avatar on Sony..

Talented and versatile actress Sadiya Siddique will soon be seen on Sony's Specials @ 10 in a new avatar. This dusky beauty is back with yet another challenging role that of a Goddess in Madhur Bhandarkar's series, Heroine, titled 'Durga'.

"This is very challenging and different role. For the first time I will be essaying such kind of character. I am really happy to be part of the series," says Sadiya.

Elaborating on her character the actress states, "I happen to be a nurse and after marriage I come to the village where my in-laws stay. There is a strange following in the village which I don't like. It's about caste system. The lower caste girls are not allowed to fall in love with higher caste guys. If the villagers come to know about it they kill the girl."

"They try to kill a girl called Kajri and I save her life being a nurse. While pumping her heart I address to the villagers that this is wrong and shouldn't be followed. The girl gets saved and the people misinterpret to be a Goddess. Even my name in the show is Durga," she adds.

"If I play the game agreeing to the fact that I am a Goddess, I can bring about certain changes for good in the village. In this way, I try my best to eradicate caste system, dowry system and make girls go to schools. At the same time, I feel guilty as I am lying to the whole village," she concludes.
