Ruslaan Mumtaz celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with family!

Telly town actor Ruslaan Mumtaz is very fond of Lord Ganesha and welcomes the Ganesh Utsav with pomp and gaiety every year!

Pure devotion and faith in god knows no limits or boundaries. This statement stands true to actor Ruslaan Mumtaz, who celebrates the much cherished Hindu festival Ganesh Chaturthi with his family.

A month after rejoicing the occasion of Eid, Ruslaan is all set to welcome the beloved Lord Ganpati Bappa at his place on this Ganesh Chaturthi. Ask Ruslaan about his tradition of celebrating Ganpati festival, he says, "I belong to a family, wherein my Mom (actress Anjana Mumtaz) is a Hindu and my Dad is a Muslim. So, we celebrate each and every festival, be it Eid or Diwali. As far as Ganesh Chaturthi is concerned, we have been getting Ganpati since I started my career in 2007."

Ruslaan Mumtaz, who is currently essaying the main lead Dhruv in the show Kehta Hai Dil... Jee Le Zara on Sony TV, is very fond of Lord Ganesha. He says, "Every year during Ganpati festival I do make it a point to visit Siddhivinayak temple. In fact, whenever I make any important decision in my life like starting a fresh project or buying a new car, I do visit Siddhivinayak temple to get the blessings of Lord Ganesha."

Talking about the custom and rituals followed in his modern Muslim home during Ganesh Chaturthi, Ruslaan says, "Every year we have a tradition to keep the Ganpati idol for 5 days and then immerse it in Juhu beach, and this year too will be the same. Frankly speaking, I'm not much involved in planning and organizing the festival because every year I'm caught up with my shoots. However, my Mom does all the decoration of the Mandir and takes care of all the formal procedure throughout."

Even though the actor has not been able to offer much time for the preparation and adornment of the festival, he is well-versed with the Hindu scripture and Bhajans. "Like I said, I believe in both the religions, therefore, I'm familiar with many Ganesh bhajans in Marathi language. Also, all over the 5 days celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, I am the one who does the puja in the morning before leaving for work."

We at TellyBuzz wish everyone a Happy Ganesh Chaurthi.
