After the remake of the popular Telugu show Rakta Sambhandham to Hindi, UTV is now working on the remake of the very popular Tamil show Kolangal.
The story is the tale of three sisters, and it talks about the manner in which the elder sister manages her family against all odds. It's the story of this hardworking and ambitious woman, and her business rival and half brother.
We hear that Rohit Khurana, Vansh of COLORS' Uttaran has bagged the lead role in this untitled show. Veteran actress Rohini Hattangadi who was last seen on Hindi television in SAB TV's Gunwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge makes a comeback with this UTV show.
A little birdie tells us, "The show will have a Maharastrian backdrop. As of now, the casting process is on. The channel and production house have not got their female lead as of now. Rohit Khurana has bagged the main lead's role. He plays a charmer who has the capability of wooing any woman's heart. Rohini Hattangady will play a pivotal role, which has a bit of a grey shade. Talks are on with Anjan Srivastava (presently seen in SAB TV's Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabad Waale) and Aishwarya Narkar of Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam fame".
When contacted, Rohit Khurana confirmed the news and said, "Yes, I have been roped in for the show. But I cannot get into more details".
Rohini Hattangadi too confirmed her presence in the show. Aishwarya Narkar accepted that she is playing mother to the female protagonist. We could not get in touch with Anjan Srivastava.
The show is expected to go on floors in the first week of September, and the launch is likely to happen in the end of September.
We tried calling Mayuree Chaddha, Fiction Head, UTV, but she remained unavailable.
