Rohit Chandel, aka Dhawal, gives a major spoiler on the upcoming track of Pandya Store

Pandya Store, a popular Hindi soap opera, is keeping fans hooked with its captivating storylines and interesting characters. The current storyline revolves around the lead actors, Priyanshi Yadav (playing Natasha Pandya) and Rohit Chandel (as Dhawal Makwana), after a generational leap in the show.

In an exclusive chat with India Forums, Rohit Chandel, who plays a lead role in Pandya Store, talks about his character, his challenges, and the exciting plot twists in the latest episodes.

How challenging was shooting the accident episode?

Whenever there's a stunt involved, it's always quite challenging because I never use a body double, and on television, hardly anyone does the kind of stunts I perform. So, if you check out my Instagram reels, you'll see that when I fall from the bike, it's all me. You can notice how I leap off the bike and execute spins. It's very demanding, but I thoroughly enjoy performing such stunts for any medium.

What difficulties arose during the 2-episode airing?

Well, it might have been tough if we didn't have reserves, but fortunately, our bank was good. However, shooting for seven days straight for two episodes was challenging, especially on the last day when we had no reserves left. We actually managed to shoot 14 episodes in those seven days. The most challenging part was when Aditya Narayan joined because he had only one day available. So, we ended up shooting two episodes in just one day. Kudos to the team. We have three directors handling three different units, and the actors were incredibly cooperative and quick with their scenes and lines. I think it happened for the first time in my career to shoot two episodes in two different time slots, and although it was tough, I enjoyed it.

Can we anticipate more chemistry between Dhawal and Natasha now that Dhawal knows about Amrish's game plan?

So, Dhawal is currently in a complex situation where he cares for both Amrish and Natasha, but the problem arises as Amrish disapproves of Natasha. Whereas, Natasha is making efforts to maintain harmony among everyone, but now that Dhawal is aware of Amrish's intentions, it remains to be seen how things will unfold. Dhawal is about to embark on a journey where he will take a stand for himself, having relied on his brother all his life. Now, Dhawal will strive to earn money, so let's see how the story unfolds.

Natasha's influence has led to Dhawal taking a stand against family customs. What are your thoughts on your character transformation?

So, in every family, there are diverse perspectives and mentalities. Dhawal's family is well-off but a bit old-fashioned, particularly regarding women's roles. On the other hand, Natasha comes from a less privileged background but has a progressive mindset. Upon entering the family, she notices the contrast, such as the separate kitchen and the limitations imposed on women. When families with such differences interact, there's an exchange of thoughts. Although both Natasha and Dhawal are open-minded, Dhawal has traditionally followed the family's customs rather than taking a stand. However, when Natasha asserts herself, Dhawal begins to understand and support her. Currently, we're exploring a storyline where we assist Pranali and her sister in establishing a clinic. It'll be interesting to observe how this development affects our family dynamics and narrative.
