Rochelle Rao: Shooting for 1962- The War In The Hills has been one of the best experiences of my life

Debuting into the web space with a patriotic drama 1962 - The War In The Hills will see actress Rochelle Rao in a very different and hard-hitting avatar on the show, going absolutely de-glam compared to her characters in the past. 

Rochelle will be essaying the role of Rimpa, a full of life and innocent village girl who also has a very brave side to her personality. Playing such a simple but diverse character is a first for Rochelle who is excited to introduce 'Rimpa' to the world. "Ripma is a very innocent and sweet young girl who is very naive about how the world works. She believes that what is right is right and wrong is wrong and sees everything around her as fair and square. She leads a simple life in the hills which due to tough circumstances takes a huge turn for her, and how she eventually faces those situations is the absolute highlight of my character. I have never before played a role that has a lovely innocence and is so high in spirit at the same time, which is the beauty of 'Rimpa'. I feel lucky to have gotten a chance to portray such an intriguing character", says Rochelle.

Shooting for the show was not an easy feat, with the challenging weather and offbeat locations, but Rochelle had quite a blast on set, which she recalls to be a very memorable experience. "Shooting for 1962- The War In The Hills has been one of the best experiences of my life. We shot the show at some of the most beautiful and picturesque locations, which were also a challenge to shoot at due to the crazy weather and erratic shooting schedules. Though our entire cast and crew took all of this in a positive spirit, and we were like a big family helping each other out and bringing out the best of our characters through it all, on screen. I must say that it was not only the boys who had difficult scenes to perform, but it was also us girls who had to take on quite a tough fight while shooting. There were some scenes that required me to get rough and tough through the scorching heat in the day and sometimes in the icy cold weather late at night, where I was actually crawling through the grass at the edge of a cliff, with a crew that was on the lookout for me at all times! Overall it was worth it, because of the experience that helped me gain so much knowledge", concludes Rochelle.
