The competition among the contestants of Colors' popular celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 8 is getting tougher with the passing days. Now, the show will soon be witnessing wild card entries.
Popular cricketer Irfan Pathan will be the wild card entrant to show his dancing skills.
In a conversation with TellyBuzz, Irfan shares about the reason to be a part of Jhalak, his connection with dance and much more about his association with Jhalak.
Talking about the reason behind opting for Jhalak, Irfan told us, "It's a different challenge and it took a little time for me to accept this challenge. I thought about it well and decided to go ahead with it. We will raise funds for our foundation which is for the underprivileged children who are talented in cricket but they don't have funds to go ahead with it. It will be a help for them because it's a self funded foundation. Its an off season for cricket because of the rains and this is the time when we train ourselves. Along with my trainings, I am keeping myself more active with dance. So, it's the perfect time for me to be a part of the show."
He is good with cricket but we haven't seen his dancing talent yet. When we asked Irfan about his connection with dance and the challenges he is coming across, he answered, "My choreographer Suchitra is my connection with dance. She is really helping me out with dance. I am very bad at dancing but she keeps encouraging me. It's a great show and big celebrities like Shamita Shetty, Shahid Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ganesh Hegde, Lauren Gottlieb and lovely people like Kavita Kaushik, Ashish Chowdhry and all the contestants are a part of it. I accept that I am not a good dancer among all these people but I will learn it gradually and reduce the gap between me and them. I am expecting my journey to be fun and exciting for sure. It's a different challenge and a different stage but it would be fun and exciting."
"The biggest challenge for me is to remember the steps. Combining your steps with music and remembering all the steps is a big challenge for me because I am not habituated to it. I will have to do a lot of rehearsals for this. Remembering the steps is not easy for me," added Irfan.
We wonder if Irfan have followed the show before and any dance form he is looking forward to learn on the show. When we asked him about it, he said, "I haven't followed the show before but I have been following the show to see how the performances happen and how the judges comment. We don't have any retakes during our performance on the show. We do have pressure just like we have in cricket. Pressure is there but it's going to be very exciting for me. Talking about my dance performances, I will be very happy if I will be able to learn just one-two steps on the show. It depends on what kind of dance forms I will be trying out on the show as the show will progress. I just had my rehearsals for two days and my choreographer Suchitra has been observing my dance ability. I am just trying to figure out what kind of dance forms I can try out on the show."
We wish you all the best Irfan!
