Nigar Khan who plays Rajbala Choudhary in Star Plus' new show Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke, produced by BAG Films has a totally different perception of India after being part of the show.
"I travelled from Delhi to Allahabad to shoot for this show. And I saw that side of India which I had never seen. We in Mumbai, are completely in a different world. We are in our own worlds, we mind our own business. But in the villages it's not like that. Everyone is caring…but sometimes they sort of step on to the other person's toes."
Mitwa is the story of two lovers who have to face problems due to caste differences. So what does Nigar have to say about the evils of caste system that has been plaguing our country since years? "I don't think there is anything wrong with the system. But the mindset related to it has to change. Everyone should be given equal opportunities. People should open up their minds and remove any prejudice that they are attached to. Change must be welcomed."
Nigar took up the character of Rajbala as a challenge as she was someone she could not relate an ounce to. "Rajbala is illiterate, does not mind following the same old routine and she has a different body language and dialect. That's what made her such a dare. But I took up some training and made sure I made Rajbala come alive on-screen'
Although Nigar enjoys her new role she misses her Comedy Circus days. She says, "I would love to do Comedy Circus- 3 if given a chance. I would never miss it for the world."
