Ravee Gupta on her exit from 'Naagin 5'

The fifth installment of Naagin may not be clocking big numbers like the previous ones have garnered but it still has a loyal fan base that continues to watch the show diligently. When you are in a show like Naagin 5, entries & exits, twists & turns is a constant - and most importantly, so are shocker moments.

Actor Ravee Gupta, who has been playing the role of Maarkat in the show for a while is now all set to make an exit from the show.

Gupta was playing the mother to Ssharad Malhotra and Mohit Sehgal's character who had her own transformation. Having played a negative role in the show, she is actually disappointed that her tracking is ending so soon. Talking about it to Times of India, she said, “I am sad and it is a tad disappointing that my track in the show is over. But in television anything can happen. It is an unpredictable business. I was hoping that my track would last another two to three months, but unfortunately, that did not happen. While there is no clarity if Maarkat will return on the show, as of now my track is over.”

Gupta actually made a comeback to TV after almost eight years with Naagin 5 and talking about it, she said, "It was a great opportunity to work in such a popular franchise. I am happy that the makers gave me a chance to play such a strong, negative role for my comeback. I am hoping that this will open up more opportunities and I will get to do such challenging roles in the future as well.”
