Raqesh Bapat opens up about his upcoming Marathi TV serial "Navari Mile Hitlar"

Raqesh Bapat, a familiar face in Indian cinema, has left an indelible mark with notable performances in films like "Tum Bin," "Koi Mere Dil Mein Hai," "Vrundavan," and "Savita Damodar Paranjape." Not just limited to the big screen, he has also graced television with his presence in popular shows such as "Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar," "Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?," and "Qubool Hai."

The actor is making his debut in Marathi daily soaps with the upcoming TV serial "Navari Mile Hitlarla," where he'll portray Abhiram Jahagirdar, known for his charismatic persona, striking appearance, and disciplined nature, earning the moniker Hitler. The narrative follows AJ's quest for an ideal woman, embarking on a mission to find 'Hitler's bride.'

In an exclusive interview with Raqesh, the actor shares his reaction and feelings on marking his debut in the upcoming Marathi TV serial "Navari Mile Hitlarla".

How do you feel after making your Marathi TV soap opera debut?

It's a big thing, more like a manifestation. It was my mom's 75th birthday, and I needed to gift her something special. She expressed her desire for me to work in a Marathi serial since she watches a lot of Marathi channels. So, I shared her wish with the universe, and surprisingly, the universe responded immediately. It felt like a Chakmagni Bhatbya. So I didn't even wait for anything. I was not given a choice because this came as an offer, and I said this is it. Everything just fell into place.

What was your reaction when you saw your first look and the promo on the screen?

Oh, I loved it. The swag that style. He's a guy full of discipline, a lot of shades to him, and it's a character any actor would love to play, give his left and right arm for it and especially the team, the channel, everyone who's putting in the effort is fabulous. So that's why it becomes a wholesome effort. I'm hoping the audience will like it, and I'm hopeful that the show will work overall and not just my character.

Delving into his personal life, Raqesh's romantic journey has seen its share of highs and lows. He tied the knot with Riddhi Dogra in 2011, a union that lasted until their divorce in 2019.
