Ranvir Shorey Suffered ‘Psychological Trauma’ in Bollywood

Recently, actor Ranvir Shorey got into a heated debate with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap after the former called out 'Hypocrisy of Independent Film-Crusaders'. Besides Ranvir, more and more artists are now coming forward to unveil the dark realities of the Bollywood industry and their bitter experiences. This wave comes after Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise on June 14 2020. The 34-year-old actor committed suicide at his Bandra house in Mumbai.

In his latest tweets, Ranvir revealed that he went through similar isolation and psychological trauma. While the actor did not take any names, he mentioned that it was the same people who are now involved.

When a Twitter user asked Ranvir to take names and publicly shame the ones who tortured him, he replied by saying:

“I don’t take any names ‘cause I have no evidence to prove their complicity! But the reason I speak is, I went through the same professional & social isolation, bad mouthing & lies in the press, and psychological trauma from 2003 to 2005 with the same people who are now involved.”

In another tweet, Ranvir also revealed that the situation got so bad that he had to leave India. Taking to Twitter, he wrote:

“The despair I went through at the time was enough to break me, but I survived thanks to my family and a few friends. I even had to leave the country because of how toxic the environment got for me. Coincidence? No. Modus operandi? Yes.”

He mentioned that he was only 33 years old at the time.

Meanwhile, Ranvir and Anurag Kashyap’s Twitter brawl went intense after the filmmaker asked the actor to not mix the pain of his past relationship with this debate. “So let’s talk . Right here. Whose flunky you think I am ? Dont mix the pain of your past relationship with this debate. I will say everything here .. the correction is needed in this industry like every industry . I operate alone .. bolo” tweeted Kashyap.

To which, Ranvir replied: “I didn’t mention you, so why don’t you confess whose flunky you are, if you’re so gutted by what I’ve said. And I don’t understand what you mean by “the pain of my past” nonsense. Don’t try to be my shrink. I assure you, I work even more alone than you!”
