Ranveer Singh on having three back-to-back flops with '83', 'Jayesbhai..' & 'Cirkus' - "was new to me"

Actor Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone graced the couch of Koffee With Karan Season 8 to flag the new season off, and it was all kinds of fantastic. It indeed turned out to be a great beginning this time around as the show began with the blockbuster real-life couple.

As one would expect, several secrets and unknown facets are unveiled on the couch, and that became the case this time around as well. During a conversation with the host of the show, Karan Johar, Singh opened up on having three back-to-back flops, which had never happened to him.

Talking about 83 and Jayesbhai Jordaar, Singh said, "Coming out of the pandemic, we had this beautiful film 83. It was just released at the wrong time. Jayeshbhai Jordaar was again a lovely, well-intentioned film, which again ultimately found its audience on streaming."

Further talking about Cirkus, he said, "Cirkus, I had a limited contribution and limited responsibility. So, I can’t really beat

myself over it. But I went through a lot, especially after Cirkus.

The actor continued, “Having said that, I had not seen three major flops in a row. So it was new to me. I was not good. But then I came to terms with everything that was happening around me. After everything that has happened, I have come out of it with more gratitude in my heart than ever before.”

The Rohit Shetty directorial was panned by critics and audiences alike and was one of the biggest failures of 2022. However, Singh bounced back only a couple a months ago with Johar himself in the successful film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
