The fine-looking Anirudh Dave has entertained us with his stint in shows like Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Mera Naam Karegi Roshan and Phulwa. Now, as the actor enters the comedy space for the third time with Y.A.R.O ka Tashan, Anirudh spills some beans about his association with SABT TV.

Anirudh, this is your third stint with SAB TV. How does it feel working with the channel?

It's always been a pleasure working with SAB TV. The channel has always supported and appreciated my comic side. That has given me the confidence as an actor where I am sure that I can tickle that funny bone of my audience. I'm also exploring more dimensions as an actor. I'm really thankful and grateful to the SAB TV team.
The concept of Y.A.R.O ka Tashan is very different. Why did you decide to take up this show?

It's true that the concept of the show is completely different. This show portrays the essence of friendship. Mr. Agrawal (Rakesh Bedi) who was a robotics professor invents his own child in the form of Y.A.R.O, which is the character that I will be seen essaying in the show. He will be a robot with feelings. Mr. Agrawal has placed an artificial heart in Y.A.R.O, because of which Y.A.R.O can feel emotions too. Y.A.R.O also has superpowers which he understands slowly. And this is what made me decide to take this show because it is unique in its own way and has a very interesting concept.
You play a humanoid. Tell us something about your character?

Y.A.R.O is a 22 year old robot; innocent, naive, efficient and wants to be human. He has an artificial heart which is very pure and innocent like a 5 year old kid. He slowly understands his superpowers and learns to control them. He tries to understand human emotions but sometimes misinterprets them which creates fun and unique stories. He has good intentions and tries to help people. He will be a robot that the Indian audience has never seen before. A simple, sweet and jovial person in the form of a robot. They will also see his amazing journey with his family, friends, and neighbors.
Since you play a humanoid did you read up or do any kind of research for the character?

Well, not really, I did not have the need to read up or do any kind of research for the character as the creative guys of the show along with me have shaped Y.A.R.O in his own unique way.
Are you open to doing comedy for the small screen?

Yes, definitely! I believe the genre of comedy should reach the next level in India. We need to be advanced in terms of concept and execution of our work. I'm personally open to working in all the genres and I believe, being an actor, we need to be open to all genres of acting.

Looks like we are up for some real time fun!
