"I am proud to be a part of the show Desh Ki Beti Nandini"

The talented and handsome actor cum model Rafi Malik, who is a very well-known model and theater actor, is all set to make a debut on television through Rashmi Sharma's upcoming political drama show Desh Ki Beti Nandini which will air on Sony TV.

We should say that Rafi has been lucky that in his debut show itself he has bagged the lead role. He will be seen playing the character of Rajveer Raghuvanshi in the show Desh Ki Beti Nandini and he is paired opposite the versatile actress Keerti Nagpure. On the same we got in touch with Rafi Malik to know about his journey in this industry, on how he cracked this show, what made him take a television daily soap and much more.

Here is a candid conversation with Rafi Malik.

How did acting happen to you?

Acting happened just by chance. I basically was a sports person and I used to love playing sports. Cricket was one of my favorite sports and I was very good at it. At one point I thought to pursue a career in cricket. But well I got an injury due to which I couldn't continue with it. Then I started modeling and my family and friends motivated me and I took a step further. In the year 2011, I participated in Gladrags Mega Model hunt and I was among the top 5 models. From there my journey in modeling began, and I started doing ramp shows for designers.

Later, I also got into theater for a year to polish my acting skills. After that I came to Mumbai to try my luck into television and was lucky enough to bag the show Desh Ki Beti Nandini. Furthermore, I am also looking forward to act in films too.

So how does it feel being a part of the show Desh Ki Beti Nandini?

It is a proud feeling to be a part of this show. It is my debut in television and as a newcomer I am lucky enough to get the best production house and channel to work with. I am looking forward to the on air date of my show. It is a very different show unlike the daily soaps as it is based on political drama. Hope that the viewer's enjoy watching our show.

You have already started shooting for the show, so how is it working with your co-actors and the production house?

There are a lot of skilled and senior actors in our show and I am getting to learn a lot through them. They all have been very helpful and supportive as I am a new comer. It is tough to be an actor on television as it needs a lot of dedication and hectic working hours but with this very hardworking and motivating team, things seems much easier. Also the director and producer of the show have been very supportive for me. Overall the entire team is really good to work with.

How did you bag this show?

I had given an audition for this role. The casting director liked my audition and that is how I bagged Desh Ki Nandini.

Did you get offers for shows while you were pursuing modeling too?

Yes, I had got a couple of offers for shows earlier too. But they all were mythological and historical shows which I was not prepared to take up. I was looking forward for some daily soap to come my way where I can play a romantic, chocolate boy role.
