"I always choose a book by judging its cover " Jayashree

In conversation with the petite actress, we found out that she is very fond of reading books. Let's see what does this book-lover has to share with us about one of her hobbies... 

Are you a book-junkie?

Im not completely a book-junkie but I enjoy reading books whenever I get time.

Are you an avid reader from the very beginning?

No, I haven't always had a fondness for books. However, I developed a likeness for it about 6 years back. I just happened to begin reading all of a sudden, as I was influenced by my friend circle.

When do you read books the most?

I prefer to read books when I'm absolutely free and I have ample of time. Generally, I don't pick up a book when I cannot dedicate time to it at a stretch because I feel like I'm insulting it. . Also, there is a problem with me that I if I start reading a book and leave it mid-way, the next time Ill resume reading it, I find it difficult to recollect what had I read in the past. (laughs)

 How long does it takes for you to complete reading a book?

If I was asked this question 2 years back, I would have proudly said that I can finish reading any book in just 3 days time. But since Im too caught up with various things now, the time consumption now depends on the size of the book. (Laughs)

 Which genre of books do you enjoy the most?

To begin with, as a young reader, I started off reading Sidney Sheldons books. Though I might sound like an amateur but I find it pleasurable to read all sort of books, as long as it keeps me glued to it. I can go to any extreme from non-fiction to fiction, but one thing is for sure, I always choose a book by judging its cover. The more attractive and appealing a book looks, the quicker I tend to finish reading it. (Laughs)

Who is your favorite author? Why?

 As a matter of fact, for all the books I have read up till now, I just loved reading Durjoy Dattas set of books. Even though he is a young Indian writer, his style of writing is pretty fresh and one can easily relate to it.

 If ever you want to adapt a book into a television show, which book would it be?

 Im so fascinated with Durjoy Dattas books that I would really want to adapt it into a short documentary. I wouldnt turn it into a daily soap because his ideas and thoughts are too evolved for the contemporary audience and therefore I think not everybody will accept it whole-heartedly.

 Which book is the closest to your heart?

One book which is closest to my heart is Shantaram. The reason being, its a true story and is based on Shantarams life journey which is so beautifully penned down, that it keeps you moving along with itself. To be frank, you cannot read this particular book in a day as its a heavy dose of many small lessons.

 Has reading had any impact on your life?

Well, I think as I have adapted this hobby, Ive become calmer as a person. Nowadays, I understand things with a broad perspective and then react to it.

 A book you would suggest to all your fans and readers?

I would suggest everybody to read Dujoy Dattas collection of books. The title of the book itself is so captivating that at least teens will enjoy it. I would give a go ahead for Of course I Love You, Now That You're Rich!, She Broke Up, I Didn't! and Ohh Yes, I Am Single!
