Is there any particular dish you cling on to?
Yupp, fish.
Your favourite Ghar Ka Khaana
Anything that my mom cooks.
Which is your favourite sweet dish?
I'm really not a person with a sweet tooth.
What's your specialty when it comes to cooking?
Indian cuisine!
Has Sachin ever cooked for you?
Umm…no he hasn't.
Is there any food that you would not eat as a child, but eat now?
I have always loved food since time memorial. So I was never a fussy kid when it came to eating. I loved food then. I love food now!
What is the highest bill you had to foot in a restaurant?
For me, every penny paid for food is worth it. So many a times I don't look at the amount in the bill at all! I just give away my card. I don't even tally if what's printed on the bill matches our orders!
Do you have food fights?
Yes…there are moments of it…like when I throw some peanuts or water on Sachin and he does the same to me (smiles).
Which is your favourite drink?
Cold coffee.
Does that mean you start your day with coffee?
No I start my day with tea. Without a cup of chai, it's just not a happening start to my day.
What is the strangest dish you have ever tried?
I tried this seafood dish in Bangkok. I don't remember the name…but it was made of prawns. So yes, that dish definitely counts at strange.
Was it good?
No, it was not. It was very bland and I like spicy food.
Any embarrassing situation you have faced while eating your food?
Yes, once during New Years Eve we went to this big hotel where they had a spectacular buffet arranged. But my story revolves around the red-wine which got served. It was on the house so the waiters just kept serving it without bothering to take orders. the word 'on the house' created a huge hullabaloo and everyone got carried away by the fun of the moment. I had gone there with my sister and some friends. At that time, I was a teenager and completely nave about alcohol. The waiter settled the glasses on our table and no one stopped him at that time. And, since none of us were drinkers they were simply occupying the space. So I tried to act smart, signalled the waiter and told him- 'we don't want the wine because it's not chilled'. The waiter gave me a blank stare and explained that red wines are supposed to be served at room temperature only. I was highly embarrassed but even then tried to cover up saying, 'Either way none of us consume alcohol on this table so you might just as well take it away' (laughs).
What do you do for midnight food cravings?
Anything. During this one time, when me, my sister and a friend who'd come for a sleepover kept talking till 3 in the morning. Obviously we started feeling hungry by that time. So on a spur of the moment we just took our car to Juhu and had Pav-Bhaji and Milk Shakes. So for food I can go to any extent at any time of the day!
Your idea of a proper diet?
Eat healthy food. Try to consume more of home-made food items. Stay away from deep fried stuff. That's it!
