Sony Entertainment Televisions’ period drama, ‘Punyashlok Ahilyabai’ has captivated the audience with the real-life inspiring tale of the noble queen, Ahilya Bai Holkar whose legacy is etched in the hearts of the people. Since its launch, the show has brought forth the noteworthy journey of a woman, who devoted her life to defeating patriarchal norms and made positive contributions for the welfare of the people, particularly women, with the unwavering support of her father-in-law, Malhar Rao Holkar. Taking a leap of 8 years, the show will be revisiting yet another glorious chapter of Ahilya’s Bai life with the ‘Maa Se Matoshree Adhyay’.

Bringing peace and prosperity with her wisdom right from her childhood, Ahilya Bai proved to be an exemplary example of how a person becomes great not by gender or birth, but by deeds; While always standing up for the right. And, in the ‘Maa Se Matoshree Adhyay’, viewers will get to see the new journey of Ahilya Bai embracing motherhood with her two children, Male Rao and Mukta. Being a doting mother, her life will now revolve around the upbringing of her two kids as she will pass on her learnings to them with the hope of them becoming great leaders of Malwa one day. Through her journey, viewers will also witness how Ahilya Bai managed the different aspects of her life while she takes on the multiple roles like – an obedient daughter in law, a loving mother and wife, an administrator and eventually becoming a mathoshree for the people of Malwa.

While Aetashaa Sansgiri, Rajesh Shringarpore and Gaurav Amlani will continue to essay the roles of Ahilya Bai, Malhar Rao Holkar and Khanderao Holkar post leap, the show has roped in popular actors like Shruti Panwar as Gautama Bai,  Resham Tipnis as Dwarka Bai, Kanan Malhotra as Gunoji and Sandeep Gaikwad as Tukoji amongst others.

Talking about the new chapter of Ahilya Bai’s life, Actress Aetashaa Sansgiri said, “Queen Ahilyabai has made a place for herself in history with her legacy and noble contribution to the society. She is and will always be an inspiration across generations. And, with Punyashlok Ahilyabai, everybody including me, have got the chance to witness the courageous tale of benevolent queen, a woman ahead of her time, who brought peace and prosperity with her wisdom for Malwa. Since, its launch the show not only provided an entertaining watch with the glorious story of a pioneering queen but also successfully conveys meaningful lessons through Ahilya Bai’s life leaving a good impact. While it’s a huge responsibility playing such great leader in Indian history, I truly consider myself fortunate to be a part of this beautiful journey. Ever since I have joined the show I have grown to be more fond of Queen Ahilya Bai because with every new chapter unfolding there is so much more to her that leaves you amazed. And, as the show takes an 8-year leap, it revisits another glorious chapter of Ahilya Bai’s life with ‘Maa Se Matoshree Adhyay’, where viewers will get to see how she embraces mother and manages the different aspects of her life while she dons multiples roles - a daughter in law, mother and wife, an administrator and eventually becoming a matoshree for the people of Malwa. Thus, looking forward to this new chapter in Ahliyabai’s life, I hope the audience shows the same love they have been showing till now.”
