Priyanka Chopra's 'not sample sized' comment causes a stir on social media; Hollywood stylist Law Roach reacts
The 'Diet Sabya' Instagram page posted videos of Priyanka Chopra and Law Roach expressing their remarks at events and in interviews, which has ignited a debate on social media.
At an event earlier this month, Priyanka Chopra revealed that a stylist had recently insulted her by saying she wasn't 'sample-sized'. The star revealed that she was reduced to tears following the incident. While she did not name anyone, Hollywood stylist Law Roach reacted to Priyanka's remark. In a recent interview, he said that his comments were 'taken out of context'.
Law Roach said that he adores Priyanka and talked about dressing the actor, who will soon be featured in the online series Citadel on Prime Video, for various occasions over the previous few years. Zendaya, Ariana Grande, and Bella Hadid were among the celebrities Law Roach has costumed. He recently declared his retirement.
Even while the actor had avoided naming anyone, fashion-focused Instagram account Diet Sabya invited its fans to comment on Priyanka Chopra's recent statement on how a stylist body-shamed her and Law Roach's response to the actor's charges.
The 'Diet Sabya' Instagram page posted videos of Priyanka and Law Roach expressing their remarks at events and in interviews with The Cut, respectively. Their caption read, "We need to have this conversation. The pressure on the glories to be sample size. The pressure on the stylists to source clothes because not all designers want to customise? The pressure on the designers to be able to put their money into custom samples. And the power dynamics between management-stylists-talent. Discuss."
Soon after, a plethora of remarks from Instagram users flooded the post's comments area. While some expressed amazement at the actor's remarks, others questioned the big issue.
Priyanka had recently said during an interaction with Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW 2023) in Los Angeles, "I've been told many things that are difficult to hear. I arrive feeling crappy because somebody told me yesterday I wasn't 'sample sized.' I was hurt, and I discussed it with my family, and I cried to my husband."
On the work front, she is all set to star in 'Citadel', which will premiere on Amazon Prime Videos.
