Preeti Amin in SAB TV's Lapata Gunj...

We had reported earlier that noted writer cum director Ashvini Dheer is coming up with a show on SAB TV, titled 'Lapata Gunj' which is an adaptation of the works of Late Sharad Joshi.

The show which will have a setup of Malgudi Days has Abbas Khan as the male lead. The other cast of the show includes Sucheta Pawase, Seetaram, Vineet Kumar, Sanjay Mishra, Rohitashv Gaur, Shubangi Gokhale.

According to our source, "The final title of the show is 'Sharad Joshi ki Kahaaniyon ka Pata…Lapata Gunj'".

The female lead of the show had not been finalized when we came out with our first report. Our source now informs us that, "Preeti Amin who played the lead in Zee Next's Jhoome Jiya Re will play the female lead in the show".

As reporter earlier, Abbas Khan plays a guy who is trying for the past ten years to become a lawyer. His screen name is 'Bijee' Pandey. Preeti Amin plays a dumb girl living in Lapata Gunj, who interacts a lot with the guy, and eventually they fall in love.

Preeti Amin confirmed the news and said, "My character is similar to the one played by Tushar Kapoor in the movie Golmaal. I can only say that I am doing the show, but can't divulge more info".

Preeti has also entered Star One's Dill Mill Gayye recently, wherein she plays the wife of Dr. Abhimanyu Modi (Amit Tandon). She was earlier seen in COLORS' Jaane Kya Baat Hui.
